About this tour »
The 9 day tour is a selection of highlights of the Larapinta Trail. Starting in Alice Springs, we hike along scenic ridges, gorges and mountain peaks, including the glorious Mt Sonder, the highest point on the Trail.
Carrying only a day pack as you walk, you'll trek through Wallaby Gap; the Serpentine, Ormiston and Redbank Gorges; Finke River; Rocky Bar Gap and more.
And after your daily hikes along this rugged world-class Trail, we will pick you up and drive you into camp, where you can relax while Trek Larapinta caters for your needs. These beautiful bushcamps are our 'homes' during the walking season, and it is a privilege for us to be here. We seek to tend them as best we can with minimal impact practices, and it's a pleasure to share these places with you. For more information or booking forms, please email us.
Testimonies »

I could not have asked for a better-run and better-organised expedition than Trek Larapinta. With attention to all the finer details, Trek Larapinta has been shaped to meet everybody's interests - you'll get the hard yakka and important information along the trail; but you'll also get good food and cheer off it.
Trek Larapinta is the perfect means to get to grips with inner Australia and I strongly recommend the experience to even the most hardened city types! Adam Courtenay, Financial journalist

Grade of trek: moderate plus »
Days vary between 5 and 8 hours of easy-to-moderate-to-hard walking, depending on the section.
You do need a moderate level of health and fitness to do the 9 day trek, and you can prepare for this. If you engage in about 1 hour of aerobic activity (this might include walking, cycling, swimming etc) 3 - 4 times a week during the 2 - 3 months prior to your trip, you should find yourself fit enough to enjoy your days' activities.
Doing longer walks on bush tracks can help you prepare your body for the full days on the trail. The more physically ready you are, the more you will enjoy your holiday.
Feel free to talk more to us about being prepared for your holiday.
